WHAT IS IT?

Help Me Grow is a voluntary family support program for pregnant women or new parents. Help Me Grow is an evidence-based program that promotes healthy growth and development for babies and young children (prenatally to age 3). Our home visitors are well-trained professionals who use a non-judgmental and compassionate approach that empowers parents with skills, tools and confidence to nurture the healthy growth of their children.

Help Me Grow believes all young children deserve the same opportunities to realize their full potential in life. The parenting education and child development resources provided to families allows them to maximize this critical period of development in their child’s life, providing a foundation for lasting success.

When a parent schedules a home visit with Help Me Grow, they will have the opportunity to share their thoughts about parenting, ask questions, and receive dependable information based on their individual family needs or topics of interest. Topics may include, but are not limited to:

  • Child Growth and Development

PLAYGROUPS

Hancock Public Health offers play groups to not only eligible families but also to the public for families expecting children up to age 3.  Playgroups are held the third Thursday of each month from 1-2pm at the Sensory Play Room, at Special Kids Therapy located at 1700 East Sandusky St. Findlay OH 45840

ANYONE can make a referral: 
Make a Referral for Early Intervention or Home Visiting
Early Intervention is a service facilitated by the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities. Through this service, parents and caregivers with concerns about their child’s development can have their infant or toddler evaluated by an interdisciplinary team at absolutely no cost to the family. Children are evaluated for delays in the areas of adaptive, cognitive, communication, physical, and social-emotional development using appropriate diagnostic tools.

Help Me Grow is a program of the Ohio Department of Health that promotes healthy pregnancies, as well as positive growth and development for babies and young children. Our home visitors are well-trained professionals who use a non-judgmental and compassionate approach that empowers parents with skills, tools and confidence to nurture the healthy growth of their children.
