The landfills operating permit was issued in compliance with Federal Subtitle “D” regulations. To satisfy the Ohio EPA requirements, Steven C. Wilson P.E., P.S., has been contracted by the Hancock County Board of Commissioners to act as sanitary engineer for the landfill.
The Hancock County Sanitary Landfill is permitted as a Municipal Solid Waste Landfill facility. This means that the facility can accept municipal and industrial solid waste, but may not accept infectious or hazardous waste materials.
Guidelines:
*All loads must be secured and covered with a tarp before being brought to the landfill. Uncovered loads are subject to an uncovered load fee.*
*The landfill does accept televisions of all types and sizes. "Old style" projection and tube televisions can be disposed of at our facility.*
*Mattresses and box springs, couches and other household furniture are all accepted items*
*Asphalt shingles, drywall, construction debris are all accepted*
The landfill has a minimum charge of $15.00, which covers the disposal of up to 800 pounds of waste. Cost per ton for municipal trash is $37.75. This facility is CASH OR CHECK ONLY, unless you're using a commercial charge account. Credit/Debit cards are not accepted.
