This is the juror information line for the Hancock County Common Pleas Court. The information provided in the following message does not apply to Grand Jurors.


All of the jury trials scheduled to commence during the week of March 9, 2026, have been canceled. This means that you do not need to appear for jury duty. Your week of availability is complete, and you do not need to call in again.


If you need to leave a message, please call 419-424-7005, or email the Jury Manager and leave your name, juror number, and phone number. On behalf of Judge Starn and Judge Riegle, thank you for your time and consideration.

Petit Jury Service Instructions

You have been selected as a Petit Juror for the Hancock County Court of Common Pleas, General Trial Division

Length of Service

  • To limit inconvenience to jurors, the Hancock County Common Pleas Court only orders jurors for one week or one trial.
  • If you are selected as a trial juror, then you must serve for the entire trial.

What to Do

  • Complete the Juror Questionnaire and immediately return one of two ways:
    • Mail: Please complete the Questionnaire and mail it using the pre-paid envelope or:
    • Email:
      1. You can complete the form by hand, then scan and email it to the Jury Manager
      2. You may go to the court's page
        • Select the Jury Service button on the home page to obtain the link to the petit jury questionnaire or view the questionnaire.
        • Emails should be sent to the Jury Manager as soon as possible.
  • The Court will post a message with specific reporting instructions for you with the date, time, and location to report.
  • This message will be located on the Court website after 5 pm on the Friday immediately before your Jury Service. or
  • The message can be accessed at the Court Jury Line by calling 419-424-7002 after 5 pm on the Friday immediately before your Jury Service.
  • Please bring a current driver's license or other form of photo ID.

What to Wear

  • Women: Slacks or a modest skirt with a blouse, collared shirt, or sweater; or a modest dress.
  • Men: Trousers and a collared shirt or sweater.
  • Please use good judgment and report for jury duty properly dressed. Business casual is appropriate attire. Please dress for temperature variations in the courtrooms.

Security & Jury Assembly

For security purposes, all persons are subject to screening and search. Bags, cases, handbags, briefcases, and parcels may be searched.
