County-Wide Recycling Locations

Recycling units are available throughout Hancock County. These Recycling Units are placed on a permanent basis at various locations available 24/7. These containers are Single-Stream Collections, which means no more sorting.  Please use all the units properly, which means no contamination (items that are NOT accepted being deposited), no littering or leaving materials outside the unit on the ground and no illegal dumping will be tolerated. These are illegal actions. Most of the sites are video monitored.  This may result in the recycling unit being removed and the program being discontinued.
Please recycle responsibly.

PROGRAM CHANGES:      2024 JUNE ACTIVITY

The Hancock County Commissioners and the Hancock County Solid Waste Management District have contracted with a 3rd party service provider, to provide a collection service that will replace the existing units throughout the County.  The current 40 yd blue separated recycling unit will be removed and replaced with single stream 8 yd collection bins. These new collection bins do not require residents to separate the materials for donation and will be serviced by the contractor.  The Hancock County Solid Waste Management District will still oversee the program, yet we are confident that these units will be serviced timely and regularly by the 3rd-party contractor reducing the onsite debris and contamination.  This change in service will be a benefit to our community as well as improve the resident’s ability to recycle more regularly when using the collection bin.

We are asking for your patience and understanding during this program transition.
There may be delays in your ability to recycle remotely, yet recycling units will still be available.
Please be patient as we work together to improve your recycling needs.
The transition of units may take several days, however remote recycling will be returned.
With your continued support, we believe this recycling opportunity will increase the local recycling efforts and protect our environment.
Please do not leave your recyclables on the ground in the absence of a collection unit.
The Litter Landing Facility location, 1720 E. Sandusky Street, Findlay, has Rumpke bins in place to collect your materials during the transition.
