Full-Time Deputy Clerk- Accounts Payable

 

Duties include but are not limited to entering accounts payable information, monitor validity of expenses, assist public in obtaining information at the front counter including, answering telephones, typing documents and correspondence, maintaining Excel worksheets, maintaining fixed assets, assisting with hotel/motel tax and local government fund entry, performing data entry and assisting office personnel with other essential related duties. This is a classified position.

 

  • Excellent telephone etiquette and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail.  Prior cash handling a plus
  • Computer, calculator and other automated office equipment skills needed.
  • Intermediate skills using various computer programs such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Starting Wage $13-$16 based on experience
  • Health Insurance, paid sick and vacation time.

Under direction of the Auditor, the Manager is responsible for the Hancock County Real Estate appraisal program, supervision of personnel; and provides guidance and assistance to the public.  The incumbent is expected to exercise good judgement, independence, initiative and professional expertise in conducting day-to-day operations.  All work duties and activities must be performed in accordance with the County safety rules and operating regulations, policies and procedures as well as federal, state, and local regulations.

Full-time Administrative Staff

The Board of Hancock County Commissioners is accepting applications for administrative staff positions.  It is necessary for the applicant to multi-task in a fast-paced office.  Must have extensive computer skills, budgetary knowledge, and excellent communication/people skills.  Job will include but is not limited to: Correspondence, mailroom, budgeting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, ditch maintenance, annexations, indigent forms, billing, prevailing wages, payroll, and attending public hearings/meetings with occasional evening hours.
